First resident checks in for historic opening

A new Perth care home marked its official opening in the community with a special welcoming event for its first resident this week.

First resident Frances Kennedy was given a special welcome from staff and her family earlier this week.

Kingfisher House Care Home, located in the city’s Dundee Road on the banks of the Tay, opened its doors this week for the first time as Frances Kennedy became the first person to move into the facility — marking a milestone for the care team preparing for her arrival and hopefully others in the coming months.

Kingfisher House is a brand-new, purpose-built care home designed to offer a warm, supportive and compassionate environment where residents can feel safe, valued and truly at home.
