Last night of the Proms a symbol

The Rotary Club of Wynberg’s flagship fundraising event, Last Night of the Proms, held on Friday 30 April at the historic Cape Town City Hall, raised an estimated R250 000 for charity.

The funds will be distributed to beneficiaries including Victoria Hospital, the Friends of Orchestral Music, and a new children’s hospice initiative.

Held in partnership with the City of Cape Town and Friends of Orchestral Music, this year’s concert featured a special highlight: the majestic City Hall carillon the largest of its kind in Africa, adding a deeply symbolic note to an evening dedicated to service, remembrance, and community upliftment.
