Beloved showjumper and trainer was well respected throughout equestrian scene
Tributes have been paid to a champion show jumper following his death.
William Sheret MBE was a beloved and well-respected figure on the equestrian scene throughout the country. He passed away aged 96.
An honorary member of British Showjumping, William was born in Glasgow in 1928 to the son of a coal man and raised alongside the coal horses.
It was this upbringing that sparked his love for the animals and during his national service he honed his showjumping skills in Berlin.
William found love with Marjory and the pair married in 1961, going on to have three children: Diane, David and the late Gavin.
