Jackson loses registration from Scottish Care Council

- EDEL KENEALY

A support worker who was sacked from her job before lying to secure another role as been disbarred from her profession.

Marie Jackson has lost her registration with the Scottish Social Care Council after her fitness to practice was found to be impaired.

The former support practitioner with Turning Point Scotland and the McFarlane Trust Ltd was found to have lied in her application to work with both charities in Paisley.

She had, according to SSSC report, stated in her application to work for Turning Point that she worked for her former employer, Love@Care, until December 2021 when she had in fact been dismissed the previous year.

She also, the reports states, failed to disclose that she had been subject to disciplinary action in her previous role when asked in a pre-interview questionnaire.
