Skills Academy gives club new lease of life

Young people in Paisley have been honing their painting and decorating skills by transforming the iconic Club 1877 at St Mirren Football Club.

Showcasing the talent Young people gained vital experience working on St Mirren's Club 1877

As part of its ongoing partnership with St Mirren Football Club, young people from The Skills Academy, Kibble’s education and training centre, have showcased their trade skills during the recent refurbishment of the club's hospitality venue.

Working under the guidance of Kibble’s painting and decorating instructor Paul, the young people carried out essential tasks for the refurbishment including ames taping, interior decoration and ladder work in the kitchen area, gaining hands-on skills and experience.

The young people who attend The Skills Academy gain qualifications while learning skills that will help them prepare for the workplace.

St Mirren and Kibble partnered in 2020 and have since provided meaningful work experience and industry connections to hundreds of young people.
