MSP praises priests in Scottish Parliament

Dedication for trio who have served local communities

The dedication of three Renfrewshire priests has been recognised at the Scottish Parliament.

West Scotland MSP Paul O’Kane congratulated the trio who have served their communities across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire for well over a century between them.

He presented them with a parliamentary motion to mark their jubilees.

Rev Canon Sean Cunney, Rev Canon Michael McMahon and Fr Paul Brady have all reached significant anniversaries.

The priests are currently serving in Howwood, Linwood and Johnstone, and previously served in Barrhead.

This year marks 70 years since Rev Canon Cunney’s ordination; 40 years since Rev Canon McMahon's ordination and 25 years since the ordination of Rev Brady.

‘The platinum, ruby and silver jubilees occurred on June, July 1 and July 3, respectively.
