Moment of forgetfulness exposed

Another week and another wee mistake from Westminster. Yes, yet again a moment of forgetfulness or carelessness has been exposed.

- By George BY PAISLEY MSP GEORGE ADAM

Let me get this straight: it was a mistake about a rental property, not a big mistake we are told by the media, just a wee one.

Fair enough, we all make mistakes. No one is immune.

What is slightly unsettling is that this wee mishap happened to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

This does not bring the feeling of the utmost confidence in someone supposedly looking after the affairs of the nations on these isles.

How are we supposed to reconcile that the piercing, vigilant eye that looks after our nations’ most complex finances has a problem applying for a licence when letting out her own home?

Another thing. When did those in the upper echelons of Westminster suddenly become landlords as a matter of course?

And when do these individuals take responsibility for actions that anyone else would be held to account?
