A multi-award-winning Paisley makeup artist has told how she turned adversity into success amidst the toughest time in her life.

- TAYLOR MURRAY

Nicola Blackstock, founder of Nik MakeupArtist in Paisley, has had a 2025 to remember after winning four international awards - one year after welcoming her premature twins and grieving the loss of her brother.

Nicola's business earned the Makeup Artist and Beauty Salon of the Year title from Prestige Awards and took she took home the Excellence in Client Satisfaction and Best Hair and Makeup Salon in Scotland accolades in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

The business was also recognised in the LUXlife Health, Beauty and Wellness Awards.

In a remarkable show of strength, all four awards came just months after Nicola gave birth to twins six weeks early.

The mum of four gave birth to Michael and Alexander in 2024, who joined fellow siblings James, 10, and Skye, four, to make it a complete family.
