Gritting teams working hard to stop cold snap impact

Gritting squads have been “working around the clock” to keep Renfrewshire moving this winter.

And more than 1,400 tonnes of salt has already been used on the area’s roads due to the cold snap.
The service has treated primary network routes 68 times and the secondary network on nine occasions, according to an update published by the council.
The information has been included in a report to the infrastructure, land and environment policy board which will be considered by elected members tomorrow.
