Purple Army set for two-game decider

Glasgow Clan’s hopes of progression in the Challenge Cup still hang in the balance after a weekend of two halves.

The Purple Army began with a five-star performance against Fife Flyers at the Braehead Arena when they notched up a 5-1 win on Friday night.

However, 24 hours later, they suffered a crushing 3-0 loss to table-topping Belfast Giants in the quest for an automatic semifinal place.

Corey Neilson’s side are five points behind Giants in third place with Dundee Stars in second spot, a point ahead of Clan.

However, both teams still have two games to play with a doubleheader against each other on the schedule.
