Farm risks closure as cash crisis hits project

A much-loved Renfrewshire attrraction is again facing the threat of closure unless thousands of pounds can be raised.

Lamont Farm Project revealed on Monday that an "all-tome low" for donations has left it close to collapse.

It comes after the Erskine farm narrowly avoided that fate in 2023 after being saved by generous last-minute fundraising.

High running costs and a lack of financial support has hit the farm, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2027.

Yvonne Elliott, volunteer farm manager, said that visitor numbers over the winter period were low and so few donations have been made, and unless more donations come soon she's not sure the farm will live beyond the summer.

She said: "If we don't get an injection of cash quite quickly then I don't see us lasting past the summer.
