Energy prices remain too high despite fall
May 24, 2025
|Paisley Daily Express
Energy bills are set to fall by an average of over £11 a month from July as Ofgem announces the new energy price cap.
-
The regulator changes the price cap every three months with the latest one set to take effect on July 1 and continue through to September 30.
The new cap means that the typical Renfrewshire household will pay £1,720 annually for gas and electricity for a standard dual-fuel direct debit plan.
This represents an average fall of seven per cent per household compared to the cap for between April and June.
However, it still works out at an extra £129 a year on average.
