Wooden crosses placed on 300 resting sites in Hawkhead
Humbled FOHC ambassador Tony Fitzpatrick at Hawkhead Cemetery in Paisley
Kindhearted Buddies are this week taking time to pay tribute to Paisley families who suffered unimaginable loss during the First and Second World Wars.
Friends of Hawkhead Cemetery (FOHC) are placing a wooden cross at more than 300 graves to mark the lives of those devastated by war ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
The tributes will be placed at the graves of those not formally recognised by the War Graves Commission yet are the resting places of men and women who lost their lives as a result of enemy action, as well as some family members.
The friends charity says these memorialshonouring army, navy, RAF personnel, first aid workers, doctors, nurses, firemen, merchant seamen, drivers and bombing casualties - stand as powerful reminders of the diverse lives affected by conflict.
And while they are not permitted to clean and maintain the graves, the group are looking at other ways to pay their respects.
