Care worker warned for failing to report head injury
October 27, 2025
|Paisley Daily Express
A Renfrewshire social care worker has been given a warning after failing to report a vulnerable person had suffered a potential head injury when they fell.
-
Ellenestina Nkonde was working as a support worker in Renfrew in November last year when she found a service user on the floor with blood on her head and failed to inform the care coordinator's office of the potential head injury when reporting the fall.
Nkonde then left the woman on her own at home when she left her scheduled visit early.
An investigation by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) found that Nkonde's actions contributed to the woman being left alone with a potential head injury for approximately 30 minutes.
