Johnstone Burgh were seaside stars as they secured three points for Christmas at Troon.

Kyle Lafferty put in a man-of-the-match performance as he got on the scoresheet alongside Danny O'Neill to topple the West of Scotland League Premier Division leaders.

Burgh are playing catch-up in the league after good runs in the Scottish Cup proper, West of Scotland League Cup and Junior Cup, now known as the Communities Cup.

And boss Murdo MacKinnon says he knew it was going to be a tough match on Saturday as he expects the Seasiders to still be in contention near the top of the table when it comes to the business end of the campaign.

He also praised his counterpart, Troon gaffer Jimmy Kirkwood, for doing his homework on Burgh.
