Passengers left in dark on train due to power cut

|Ormskirk Advertiser
TRAIN passengers were left stranded in darkness for two hours due to power supply issues, leading to a series of cancellations across the network.
-
Merseyrail announced on its website that power supply problems at Hunts Cross station had caused disruptions on the Ormskirk/Hunts Cross line from around 6pm on Monday (July 7).
Tom, 26, was en route to a flat viewing and planned to alight at St Michaels when the train lost power due to the issues at Hunts Cross, coming to a halt on the tracks just after 6pm.
He said: “The Merseyrail train was stuck for two hours in the tunnel.
“We got stuck in tunnel on way to St Michaels and didn’t move for two hours.
“The power went off, the lights went off and then the woman working on the train said 'don't worry everyone it's fine, we're going to be fine.'
“We were one stop away and nearly at St Michaels when the power cut out.
