Titanic survivor's letter fetches over ₹3cr at UK auction

A letter penned by Titanic survivor Colonel Archibald Gracie fetched $3,99,000 (Rs 3.4 crore) at an auction by Henry Aldridge & Son in Wiltshire, England. Described as “museum grade”, the letter was acquired by a private US collector after intense bidding, the auction house announced recently, according to a report.
The report said Gracie had written the letter from Southampton April 10, 1912, just days before the gigantic Titanic sank into the icy waters of the North Atlantic after colliding with an iceberg.
