'ODISHA PUSHTI MISSION' SOON

The state government will soon establish Odisha Pushti Mission with an allocation of Rs 10,000 crore to intensify focus on nutrition, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced Saturday.

Addressing the gathering during the state-level 'Poshan Pakhya 2025' celebration at State Institute for Women and Children in Laxmisagar here, Majhi emphasised the importance of making the nutrition programme a success in order to create a healthy human resource base.
Highlighting that community awareness is essential for ensuring nutrition security, he said efforts are being made to raise awareness about the critical importance of nutrition during the first 1,000 days of a child's life.
“Odisha Pushti Mission will be established with a grant of Rs 10,000 crore in order to steadily focus on nutrition,” Majhi said, adding that Rs 284 crore has been allocated in this year's Budget to provide nutritious food to women and children under the nutrition programme.
