Keonjhar tribal woman raped twice in a fortnight; one held

A 25-year-old runaway tribal woman was allegedly raped twice by a youth in Keonjhar town in around a fortnight's time on the pretext of helping her get some work to earn a living, police said.
The accused, identified as Sanjay Parihar, 25, a native of Khudapasi village under Pandapada police limits in the district, was arrested after the survivour, accompanied by social activists of Sakhi-One Stop Centre, lodged a complaint Friday evening. It is alleged that she was raped June 19 and July 2.
Town police station IIC Srikanta Sahu said a case (445/25) was registered in this connection, and the accused produced in the court Saturday. Further investigations are on, he added.
