Dy CM flags off ‘LRI Rath’ in 5 dists

During the awareness drive, farmers will be informed about the usefulness of LRI cards that can help them make informed decisions on crop selection, fertilizer management, soil conservation measures, and water conservation practices
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo flagged off the Land Resource Inventory (LRI) Rath at Krushi Bhawan Wednesday.
Under the REWARD (Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through innovative Development) pilot project, the LRI Yatra was launched across various gram panchayats in five districtsNayagarh, Koraput, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, and Deogarh. This includes eight panchayats in Deogarh, 14 in Dhenkanal, 16 in Koraput, 19 in Nayagarh, and 22 in Sambalpur - Wednesday. The drive, through the designated LRI vans, will continue for one month.
The primary objective of this initiative is to create awareness among farmers about LRI and scientific watershed management. The LRI database generated through the process has been used to prepare LRI cards.
