DRIVE TO TACKLE POST-FLOOD DISEASES

In response to recent floods and diarrhoeal outbreaks across districts, the Odisha Government will roll out an intensive weeklong campaign from July 4 to July 11 to curb water and vector-borne diseases.
The drive, starting Thursday, is a joint initiative of the Health & Family Welfare and Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water departments.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Health Secretary Aswathy S at Lok Seva Bhawan here Thursday, where director of Public Health, Nilakantha Mishra, shared updates on the health situation and proposed measures.
The drive will include super-chlorination of drinking water sources, disinfection of health facilities, schools, markets, and public spaces, along with awareness campaigns at village and household levels
