New 'north' option is best for Nuneaton and Bedworth

A new 'north' council is the most 'effective' option for the future of Nuneaton and Bedworth.

That is according to a new report by audit and assurance specialists, Deloitte.

The firm was asked to look at the best options for the future of all councils in Warwickshire. This is amid the major change the government wants to make to local councils.

It wants to abolish all two-tier systems, which is what currently operates in Warwickshire with Warwickshire County Council and the local district and borough councils, including Nuneaton and Bedworth. Prior to the local elections, the county council was pushing for a single, unitary authority to cover the whole county.
