DAMIAN, HIS HUSBAND AND HIS MOTHER-IN LAW HAVE LOST 20 STONE IN WEIGHT BETWEEN THEM

- By RUCSANDRA MOLDOVEANU

'We were able to go on fairground rides with our children for the first time thanks to Slimming World'

A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE dad says his entire family has started eating healthily after he lost almost seven stones in weight.

Damian Murphy-Clarke, 42, first joined a Slimming World group just under three years ago and never imagined his life, as well as his family’s, would be changed.

Despite attending his weekly meetings, Damian still struggled with his weight for the first year-and-a-half to two years, “losing a bit, then gaining a bit”.

He said: “My husband and I first joined Slimming World after we got married because we'd booked a family holiday so we thought let’s lose weight.

“The holiday came and went and my motivation wasn’t really there and we were going though the adoption process as well.”

The father-of-four weighed 18st 9lbs when he started out, compared to the 11st 10lbs he weighs now, with most of that weight shed in the past year-and-a-half.

Damian, from Hucknall, found his motivation in his children.

He said: “We have four children and two of them have SEN, one of them is severely disabled. We have to be there as best as we can to support them for as long as we can.

“That motivated us to really concentrate and giving losing weight 100 per cent.

“Over the last year and a half, me, my husband Graham and my mother-in-law Coreena really started to knuckle down with Slimming World.

“Me and my husband are now both consultants. We live and breathe Slimming World.”
