'We just can't cut any more' says charity in battle for its survival

A COMMUNITY organisation which provides support services has issued an urgent plea for help, saying it “just can’t cut any more”.

The Bridges Community Trust, based in The Meadows since 1996, says its Nottingham City Council funding has gradually dwindled over the last year.

The trust says its funding pot will run dry by early June, meaning its food bank and employment support would end.

Over the past two years, funding for the trust has gradually been phased out and, as a result, it has had to make significant staffing cuts.

The three paid staff members still working at the centre also volunteer 20 hours a week to keep the charity's services operational.
