SHE OPENS WEST BRIDGFORD SHOP TOMORROW

- By LYNETTE PINCHESS lynette.pinchess@reachplc.com

CHOCOHOLICS rejoice! Savour by Studio Chocolate will soon open its doors in West Bridgford with treats that would make Willy Wonka cry with envy.

The official opening is tomorrow but we can bring you a sneak peek of what's in store at the new premises in Musters Road.

After nine years in the city centre, chocolatier Ellie Wharrad has transferred the whole Studio Chocolate operation to a bigger site, with a cafe, shop, bakery and chocolate-making workshops all under one roof.

Ellie, who started making chocolates in Thurland Street, used to have a shop at Cobden Chambers but it closed in 2023 because running two sites meant double the rent, rates and staff. She never planned to open another shop.

But opportunity knocked and Ellie couldn't resist when she spotted the empty unit next door to the La Storia Italian restaurant where her family had gone for a Father's Day roast.

The former Indian restaurant had a two-month transformation after smashing a £20,000 Crowdfunder campaign, which offered a series of rewards in return for donations.

The black, yellow, grey, and purple shades of the old restaurant have been replaced with light-coloured walls and seating for 24 at well-spaced-out tables.
