Rushcliffe is to introduce purple bins just for glass

A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE borough is introducing a scheme to improve its recycling service.

Glass-only bin collections will be introduced by Rushcliffe Borough Council in December.

The new purple-lidded bins will enable glass to be recycled to make new jars and bottles.

Under the new service, the bins will be collected every six weeks and will allow for mixed glass to be reprocessed.

Recycling plants will be reviewed after these collection services are introduced.

The new bins will not replace the current recycling bins, but will help separate glass from other recyclables.
