Paterson looking for right recipe to get Magpies cooking

NOTTS AIMING FOR FIRST WIN IN TOUGH TRIP TO BARROW

NOTTS County are hungry to pick up their first win of the season, and for Martin Paterson his first as head coach, as they travel to face Barrow in League Two today (3pm).

The Magpies were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League One Wigan Athletic in midweek, a narrow 1-0 defeat at the DW Stadium, which followed their disappointing 2-1 loss to Salford City at Meadow Lane last Saturday.

Goals are not flying in for Notts to start the campaign, with Paterson missing some key players, which is making it difficult for him to settle on his strongest lineup, with attacking players being moved around.

Barrow have suffered three defeats from three to start the season but their first two League matches have been against promotion favourites Chesterfield and MK Dons, so Paterson is under no illusion that his team will be tested again.
