Mourners had to lead funeral after the celebrant failed to show up

'UNFORTUNATE ERROR' LEAVES FAMILY DISTRAUGHT

A FAMILY has been left feeling “angry, upset and extremely let down” after a celebrant missed a funeral due to an “unfortunate error”.

The funeral, at Mansfield Crematorium on Monday, was going to be led by celebrant James Taylor, who failed to show up.

Daniel Kerley explained in a social media post the distress Mr Taylor’s absence caused at his grandmother’s funeral.

Mr Kerley added that Mr Taylor had been picked by his grandmother herself as the celebrant and had discussed the funeral details with the bereaved family at her home.
