Motorcyclist caught speeding while he was on his ‘last ride of the year'

A MOTORCYCLIST was caught speeding at 85mph in a 50mph limit.

Nottingham Magistrates’ Court heard how self-employed surveyor and civil engineer Garry Pride was on his way to meet a friend in Matlock when he was clocked doing 35mph over the limit on the A610 Eastwood bypass on his Honda.

The 59-year-old, of Basford, admitted the speeding offence, which took place at around 10.15am on October 27, 2024, prosecutor Sharon Williams said. His solicitor told the hearing: “He is about to celebrate, if that's the word, his 60th birthday, he has been driving since he was 17 and because of his work he is pretty desperate to avoid a disqualification.
