Marinakis listed again as having 'significant control' at the Reds

OWNER Evangelos Marinakis is once again listed as a “person with significant control” of Nottingham Forest's parent company.

The Greek businessman had placed his shares in NF Football Investments Limited, the vehicle that owns the Reds, into a blind trust earlier this year. He had done so to ensure compliance with UEFA multi-club ownership rules.

The regulations prevent an individual from having a significant say in the running of two clubs competing in the same UEFA competition. At one stage last season, it looked as though Forest and fellow Marinakis-owned side Olympiacos might both qualify for the Champions League.

In the event, the Reds finished seventh in the Premier League and will compete in next term's UEFA Conference League. Olympiacos, meanwhile, qualified for the Champions League, meaning there is no chance of the two teams coming up against each other.
