NORWEGIAN ARRIVES ON INITIAL LOAN DEAL

- By SAM ALLEN

NOTTS County have looked overseas again for talent to add to the squad, signing Norwegian midfielder Harald Nilsen Tangen on an initial loan from Sarpsborg 08, with the option of a permanent deal this summer.

The 25-year-old, a former youth international for his native Norway up to U20 level, has made 130 appearances in their domestic top flight.

He is a product of Viking FK’s academy and became a mainstay in their side after a breakthrough season in the Eliteserien in 2021, scoring five goals in 27 appearances.

Tangen remained at Viking for the next two-and-a-half seasons before signing a long-term contract with Sarpsborg in August 2024.

Director of Football Richard Montague said: “Harald has lots of exciting qualities.
