Jilted man thrust knife at 'terrified' ex-partner

A JILTED man thrust a knife towards his terrified ex-partner in front of her teenage daughter after getting into her Nottingham home.

Nottingham Crown Court was told how, after being arrested and bailed for that offence, Kevin Wright then "bombarded" the woman with threatening messages including saying he would slit her throat.

The 41-year-old, who has previous convictions for wounding, sent an estimated 150 WhatsApp messages over two days, many of which were abusive and highly sexual.

Jailing him for two years, Recorder Sacha Ackland said: "After the relationship ended you carried out a campaign of harassment. On December 31, 2024, you took a knife to her home and threatened her with it and caused her to fall down the stairs. There were children present.

"You then continued to threaten her, including slitting her throat.

"She estimates you called her 150 times in total and you would send her threatening WhatsApp messages.
