Jail for man who lay in wait for his ex-partner before launching attack

A “VIOLENT” Nottinghamshire man attacked his former partner after letting himself into her home.

In disturbing audio clips played at Nottingham Crown Court, the victim can be heard screaming and begging Jamie Rowe to stop his assault.

During the beating, the drunk self-employed bricklayer punched the woman twice to the face, pulled her around by the hair, bashed her head against the floor and left her with a black eye.

Jailing the 30-year-old for two years, Judge Julie Warburton said: “You let yourself into her home and lay in wait and that must have been terrifying. It is clear from what I heard this was a violent and aggressive episode during which I could hear you shouting at her as the complainant pleaded with you to stop while your own daughter was crying.
