Investigation launched after person discovered in canal

DETECTIVES have launched an investigation after a body was found in a Nottinghamshire canal.

Officers were called to Canal Side, Beeston, at around 1.30pm yesterday.

At around 5pm, a crime scene investigation van, two marked police cars and a specialist underwater search van were parked up on the corner of Canal Side. Two cordons were set up in the area of the discovery, with police blocking access to Beeston Canal.
