VANESSA FELTZ TELLS RACHAEL DAVIS WHY SHE'S HOSTING HER OWN DAYTIME TV SHOW AGAIN
RELATIONSHIPS, friendships, parenting, gossip, fashion - any subject of conversation is welcome on Vanessa Feltz's new self-titled daytime show.
Anything, that is, except politics. "It's really going to be, I hope, tremendously good fun," says the This Morning presenter, 63, whose hit Nineties talk show is getting a 2025 revamp after 27 years off screen.
"It's not going to be politics, and it's not going to be news stories of the day - it's not that. So that is great because lots of people are completely overwhelmed by the news agenda - it's a bit worrying and unsettling..."You keep hearing all these sad and worrying stories and you're not sure what to do about them because what the hell can you do? And you feel horrid.
"So I'm hoping that this will be a kind of oasis of refuge in the middle of the day, away from the news and into the things that we really like, like love, friendship, dating, family relationships and parenting."You know, all the stuff that really concerns us, that we think about and worry about."
Vanessa, which begins on Channel 5 on Monday lunchtime, will see the experienced broadcaster - who has been on TV since the mid-1990s - welcome viewers to dial in about anything that's on their mind.
