Huge win for Panthers to stay in cup hunt

NOTTINGHAM Panthers won 4-2 on the road at Sheffield Steelers to secure a massive two points in the Challenge Cup to keep alive hopes of qualification for the knockout stages.

Panthers continued to be without injured forwards Matt Alfaro and Chase Pearson.

Kevin Carr started between the pipes with Jason Grande as backup.

After Brendan Harris won the face-off, Didrik Henbrant had a shot saved within just four seconds and Matt Marcinew also went close as Panthers dominated the opening stages.
