Golf course on map of options for thousands of homes in borough

A NEW map has revealed where thousands of homes could be built in part of Nottinghamshire with one of the possible sites being a golf course.

Gedling Borough Council has released documents that list the areas that could be allocated for housing in the borough, ahead of a consultation that will shape where, and how, new housing developments will be built.

The council is taking the first step in forming its new Local Plan, a planning document that outlines the future development of the borough.

It will be discussed by senior councillors on Thursday, when they will likely approve a consultation that will invite residents, businesses, and community groups to comment on the number and location of the new homes planned.

The council document outlining the different possible housing locations explained developers had put forward several sites, but clarified that no decisions had been made yet.
