Focus on children as young as seven in drive to tackle knife crime in city

TACKLING knife crime to make Nottingham “safer for all’ is among the priorities set out by Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden in his new four-year plan.

The plan aims to intervene with children identified as susceptible to violent crime earlier than ever in a bid to tackle the city’s ongoing issue with knife crime.

Launching his crime plan at St Ann’s Community Recording Studios (CRS), a youth club and intervention service in the heart of one of the city’s most impoverished areas, the commissioner set out how he aimed to tackle his new objectives over the next four years.
