CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF BIG BILLS AND BEING CUT OFF

- By JOSHUA HARTLEY

A NOTTINGHAM energy company slammed by hundreds of its customers is facing a Trustpilot investigation over fake reviews after a former employee claimed staff were encouraged to manipulate its rating.

Clients of Strelley-based energy supplier Yü Energy have accused it in recent months of charging outrageously high amounts, forcibly fitting prepayment meters and removing others, and suddenly cutting off power during bill disputes.

Despite the horror stories about the Mellors Way business's conduct, it maintains to prospective clientele that it is a “trustworthy” supplier that provides the “highest level of customer services” to tens of thousands of UK businesses.

This is evidenced, the company says, through its consistently high rating on Trustpilot - but now an ex-employee and the review platform itself have cast doubt over whether its score has been manipulated.
