A FORMER Nottingham Labour councillor who recently quit the party has been called a “traitor” and told to “**** off” by a senior official.

Six former Nottingham Labour councillors confirmed last Thursday that they were jumping ship to form a new Nottingham People’s Alliance group.

The group will now become the main opposition party on Nottingham City Council and it has emerged that one of their members received a furious message from a Labour official after the defections were announced.

The message read: “There is a sense of relief that the six of you have left the group.

“You have traded on the Labour Party and its name for years living off its vote. Don’t ever speak to me again. TRAITOR.”
