Battling back with a vengeance

DESPITE the supposed battle between the Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises for your money, both offer different takes on the military shooter.

CoD has long been a more twitchy affair, with a greater focus on single-player campaigns and small multiplayer arenas. Battlefield on the other hand was a multiplayer only game for some time, focused on sprawling maps full of vehicles, troops and tactics, with occasional attempts at single player campaigns mostly best left forgotten.

After the last Battlefield game left a sour taste in most fans’ mouths, BF6 has arrived to make amends and have a proper stab at knocking CoD off its pedestal.

That means BF6 packs in a lot. There's a single-player campaign, a suite of large and small multiplayer maps and a free-to-play Battle Royale mode, which is a first for the series.
