Base 51 appealing for donations after services reduced

STAFF and services are among the first to go as a Nottingham youth charity tries to deal with a 40% funding reduction that hit them this January.

Base 51, which has been operating since 1993, has announced that it has lost out on a significant chunk of its funding after grants ran their course without renewals.

The charity which helps young people aged 11-25 faces challenges with services such as counselling, youth clubs, and Outburst (an LGBTQIA+ support group), all of which are used to help young people transition into adult life.

The funding cuts that became apparent in January have significantly reduced the services provided at Base 51, particularly counselling.

The charity has now issued an urgent plea for donations from public and private donors.
