Airline apologises to family of youngster drenched by air-con leak during take-off

A FAMILY had their flight back to the UK spoiled when their daughter got soaked during an air-con leak at takeoff.

Dr Anup Singh, from Wollaton, was travelling back with his wife and daughter, aged 11, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to London Heathrow.

The family were on the second leg of their return Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi to London when a leak broke out above the Tl-year-old's seat.

As it happened during takeoff, nothing could be done until the seatbelt signs were turned off, when flight attendants used tissues anda blanket to plug the leak.

Dr Singh, 40, said: “The leak started as soon as the plane took off and it was directly above my daughter's seat and quite heavy.

“We thought something was wrong with the plane. The crew then told us nothing could be done because the plane was full and the leak carried on, which is when they tried stopping it with a blanket.
