BOSS BLASTS SIDE FOR THE 'NEGATIVE' FOOTBALL WHICH LED TO WINNING GOAL

MARTIN Paterson was left “absolutely livid” by the goal with which Notts County were beaten by Gillingham on Saturday.

The Magpies fell behind just seconds into the second half of Saturday's League Two fixture at Priestfield, with Josh Andrews' second goal in as many games proving enough to seal the three points which moved the hosts joint top of the table.

Alassana Jatta, Matthew Dennis and Jodi Jones all went close to scoring for Notts, who slipped to a first defeat in five matches with this reverse.

But boss Paterson was in no mood to talk positives after the game, instead choosing to share his frustrations over the manner which saw his side fall behind.

"It was always going to be a tough game," he said.

"The thing for me is when you come away from home you need the ball in the danger areas.
