Wharf site set to 'transform heart of town' as revamp moves forward

A LONG-ANTICIPATED regeneration project along Bideford's historic riverside has moved closer to reality with the appointment of a main contractor to bring the scheme to life.
Devon-based developers Red Earth have confirmed that Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure Limited will lead the transformation of the Brunswick Wharf site. The project is set to revitalise a neglected stretch of the Torridge estuary with more than 100 new apartments, a restaurant, six retail units, and a pop-up café.
The scheme, which includes a new public open square and a surface level car park that will also function as an events space, is designed to become a hub for both residents and the wider community. A riverside walk and a shared pedestrian and cycle route linking to the Tarka Trail will further improve accessibility and encourage active travel.
