A YOUNG artist from Bideford has designs on saving the planet with a message to get more people in Torridge recycling their waste correctly.

Eight-year-old George Hudson was recently invited to Torridge District Council’s new operational services centre after winning a competition to design a new banner for one of the council's latest refuse vehicles.

Before George's artwork was transformed into a large-scale banner and applied to the side of the new vehicle, he spent time with graphic designer Jon Lockett to develop and refine his ideas.
