Aster CMI Hospital and Odisha Government's Initiative Enables Life-Saving Liver Transplants for 3 Children

Over 200 Children Supported Through Innovative CSR and Crowdfunding Model

Aster CMI Hospital, one of India’s leading healthcare institutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odishain 2022 to provide affordable, life-saving pediatric liver transplants under its flagship Affordable Liver Transplantation Initiative.

This pioneering public-private partnership is significantly improving healthcare access for children in one of India’s underserved states.

Through this collaboration, three childrenfrom Odisha, all diagnosed with advanced liver disease, have successfully undergone liver transplants at Aster CMI Hospital in Bangalore. These transplants were made possible through a blended financing model where families contribute a nominal amount of 2 lakhs, and the hospitalthrough a mix of CSR funds, government schemes, and crowdfunding covers the remaining costs, which typically run up to ?20-25 lakhs.
