The rupee recovered 9 paise closing low to settle at 88.71 on Wednesday, as the central monetary policy decision announced measures to support exporters and the domestic unit.

Forex traders said the rupee acted as the US dollar as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.5% and maintained a neutral stance in its fourth Monetary Policy Committee meeting.
