India reinforces its role in the global energy landscape

As the curtain comes down on the India Energy Week 2026— the country's flagship global energy platform—Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlights how India is well prepared for geopolitical flux while remaining at the centre stage of global energy dialogue

The India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 concluded with much fanfare in Goa on Friday. Speaking on the concluding day of the event, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted India's preparedness, resilience, and growing global energy influence.

India has demonstrated strong preparedness to navigate sustained geopolitical volatility in global energy markets and will continue to occupy centre stage in international energy discourse, the minister said at the closing ceremony of the IEW 2026.

Speaking during the closing fireside chat, Puri emphasised that India's energy strategy is anchored in diversification, resilience, and forward-looking transitions. “We have coped very well with successive geopolitical shocks. Each challenge has been converted into an opportunity— through diversification of supply sources and a rapid transition towards cleaner fuels,” the minister said.
