'Will be key LP in funds; weighing private credit'

It plans to raise about ₹2,000 crore ($240 million) for the latest vehicle and is inching towards the first close, expected by October at ₹1500-1,000 crore. This follows its first fund, which was oversubscribed, securing ₹540 crore from high-net-worth individuals and family offices.

The Mumbai-based wealth manager is also looking to onboard foreign capital via a feeder vehicle based in Gujarat's Gift City, as well as institutional firms as limited partners (LPS), said Siddharth Jhunjhunwala, executive director and head of the FoF.

In an interview, Jhunjhunwala spoke about the new FoF's strategy, the advantages of a bigger fund and plans to enter private credit where it is seeing interest from family offices and HNIS. Edited excerpts:

What is your strategy for fund investments via FoF II?
